ARMAN KHOJANDI

Arman is a native of Northern Virginia, having been delivered by his late father at Sibley Hospital, and having attended Kent Gardens ES, Longfellow MS, and Jefferson HS, before studying Neuroscience and Data Science at George Mason University. He fell in love with tennis at age 3 and played continuously as a junior and through high school. While Arman began playing in the early Federer era, he has come to appreciate the semi-western topspin game taught in modern times, and has adapted his teaching style to mirror this.

Arman leverages his understanding of mechanics to teach students why a certain shot, technique, or movement is optimal in a given situation, so they develop the critical sense and mental fortitude for cerebral, creative play in competition. Arman coaches to inspire future generations on and off the court; indeed, he constantly emphasizes how the qualities conducive to success in tennis mirror those that will serve his students well in life — long after they have rolled their eyes at Arman’s last dad-joke.

Outside of his time with TennisDNA, Arman works in data science / software engineering, tutors privately, and contributes in a fractional capacity in multiple startups. He plans to pursue a Masters in CS with specialization in AI and Machine Learning. He also enjoys chess (having played competitively in his younger years), languages, and time in nature, among other things.
