Camila is from Cali, Colombia. As a touring junior, she competed in Colombia, the United States, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and France. In 2017, she accepted an offer for a tennis scholarship at the University of Northwestern Ohio, where Camila played at the #1 spot in both singles and doubles, earning numerous awards, including player of the year in 2019, most matches won in 2018, Conference tournament champion in 2018 and 2019, All American Honors in 2018, player of the year 2019 at University of northwestern Ohio, first-team all-conference in 2019, and All American Honors again in 2021. After completing her undergraduate degree in marketing, Camila moved to Miami to start her MBA at San Thomas University where she competed for another year. As a coach, Camila feels a strong sense of accountability to her students and to the game of tennis. She is passionate about seeing her students reach their personal goals, have fun, and get the most out of their time on court with her. Camila sees the role of a coach as that of a mentor who teaches not just tennis skills, but also hard work, perseverance, focused practice, mental toughness, and so much more. Every time Camila is on court, she puts all her energy into living up to her own standards of being the coach and mentor that her students deserve. Having had such a colorful career as a player, and being so grateful for what tennis has given her, she hopes that she can share a piece of what she has with every student that crosses her path.
